Who PLAYS IN The Westmorland Orchestra?
Our membership is made up of over 60 dedicated amateur musicians from Cumbria and North Lancashire. We rehearse weekly in Kendal from September to June and give three or four public concerts a year. In our performances of large-scale works, professional musicians augment the orchestra – particularly in the percussion section! We present the full range of the established symphony concert repertoire, and also newer, lesser-known works of the 20th and the 21st century. We endeavour to support and encourage young musicians embarking on a professional career.
