Description:	Weber - Der Freischütz Overture; Sibelius - Violin Concerto - Soloist Leora Cohen; Tchaikovsky - Symphony No. 6 "Pathétique" An opportunity to hear the extraordinarily talented young violinist Leora Cohen perform Sibelius' exquisite violin concerto. The Westmorland Orchestra will also be playing Tchaikovsky's profound and deeply emotional Symphony No. 6, known as the "Pathetique." The composer called it his "passionate" overture but the translation reduced this, somewhat... come and hear and decide what you think. Also on the programme is Weber's Der Freischutz Overture which gives a dramatic and powerful synopsis of the opera plot through massive orchestral swells and mood changes. All this in the beautiful Kendal parish church under the baton of Melvin Tay - see you there!
